Stuart Saves the Day! Link Was to Charts.com, duh.

Stuart Smith, of course, saves the day. Stuart wins the prize for link checking in my book. He can proofread for me anytime he wants to. It was so nice of the Mintek gang to stop over and help out. First they clicked on the trendycharts.com link that took them to charts.com, then they emailed me! I of course corrected that silly mistake.

As always, we give a shout out to all of those who stop by and help us out with our beta testing. Stuart is an excellent PFMI member and great writer too. Stuart has a blog called The Entrepreneur’s Advisor® as well as manning the blog at Mintek Transcendent® EAM and CMMS. Stuart is there when you need him and is always ready and willing to help an entrepreneur. A huge thanks to LinkedIn for bringing us all together.

Again thank you to all of our beta testers.

Thanks,
tc

Sox vs. Cubs – Who Would of Thought? Thanks Bob.

This was our July 7th, one week after launch email blast:

The launch of trendycharts.com beta on July 1, 2010, has been fun and educational. It is amazing what people want to know from their circle of friends, family, business associates and clients. Now YOU can say you know a real Chicago web entreprenuer (me! and I am a Chicago gal too!! who frequents Kentucky!) Take the latest poll posted at trendycharts.com just so you can say you supported one of your own. Silicon Valley better watch out, here comes Chicago!!!! We are nipping at your heels, that is for sure!!

VS.

My brother in law did the Cubs Vs. Sox poll and I really appreciated it. The beta testing got fast and furious with this poll. Who would have thought? I guess rivalry breeds pollheads!! Go Sox! Just a tiny plug from tc. Oh btw, Go Cubs too. I am not that stupid!!

Thanks,
tc

Spelling Errors, Grammar and a Bug

Feedback has been received on typographical errors and grammar usage. Love those trendycharts.com beta testers. There was a bug about multiple answers. The glitch was preventing the multiple answer selection box work from working properly. Stephan was on top of it and has resolved all issues today. Holiday or not, Stephan is on the spot to fix anything we find.

Thanks to all of the beta testers and Happy 4th of July 2010.

LinkedIn and DePaul Alumni Show Support

Even the smallest gesture or words help when you are launching a new business or a website for beta testing. The entire process involves constant monitoring and as much feedback as you can find. Support has been coming in from all over. DePaul Alumni Group on LinkedIn have given us a show of their spirit as well. Without naming folks from LinkedIn, a fellow DePaul Alumni member said:

cool idea, everyone like polls!

So that tiny assembly of 5 words made us cheer! Thanks to the DePaul Alumni group on LinkedIn for not kicking us out on our ear as so many other groups do. LinkedIn, for good reason, has a low tolerance for any links being posted. How on earth do you share a request for beta testing without a link? It is not easy. Some groups are really nice and supportive and others are very short fuses when it comes to spam. Although we do not consider ourselves spam, unfortunately we are. Thanks DePaul Group for the show of support. You are awesome!

Thanks,
tc

What is trendycharts.com?

It really started as a simple way to see how well The Buckmaster Institute and ManagerLabs could collaborate effectively on a web project. The concept came from observations of the ManagerLabs team that as property and facility managers were always interested in what everyone else was doing. Or how are they doing it? Or is there a trend towards change? Will this trend be accepted? How will my property or facility appear to tenants or building owners if we adopt or adapt this?

Our industry is always considered slow to adopt or adapt. We keep with the time tested and sure things. Change is not always an option and we say we want progress, but we are hesitant to accept the change that goes with it. In our quest to work on projects for the industry, The Buckmaster Institute and ManagerLabs agreed that a poll/survey tool might be just the thing our industry needs to see what trends are and how fast we adopt or adapt.

Basically trendycharts let’s today’s property and facility people, ask it! and track it! all in a few easy mouse clicks. In our industry we saw that there is much need for feedback as well as input from others we wish to ask. Try our beta and see if you like it. Suggest features, make comments. This is YOUR tool to use so have at it.

Thanks,
ManagerLabs
and
The Buckmaster Institute

Facebook and trendycharts Meet Up

Had to add a Facebook page. Learned that when adding a Facebook page it is just that, a page, not an account. With doing all of these projects, there are various aspects that make you learn something new every second. The Facebook page will permit another opportunity to get the word out that we need beta testers. Beta testers are our best friend right now.

Thanks to all of those friends, family, colleagues, PFMI members and all LinkedIn folks for supporting this beta test. We really appreciate it.

Join us on Facebook and Like Us too!

Thanks,
tc

trendycharts soft beta launch July 1, 2010

Welcome to the trendycharts blog.

July 1, 2010 is our soft launch of the beta to family, friends, coworkers, partners and colleagues. You can always count on those people in your life to support your endeavors. Both Stephan and I thank those for being there on July 1 to sign up and take some beta polls.

We refer to this as a soft launch of the beta because we know there is much more to be done and bugs and ideas really come out with actual users. As much as you test and test this stuff, there is always more. Browsers are a big part of the issues the programmers face today.

You may not know this, but there are probably hundreds, if not thousands of browsers out there being used. These browsers are from all over the world and no one can guarantee that a website works with all of them perfectly. Hence beta testing. In advance we thank all of you for being there on our first day!

Enjoy the project and share with other friends, family, coworkers, partners and colleagues as well.

Thanks,

Linda and Stephan

Generous Contribution from Edward M. Bury

What can I say, but wow. Edward M. Bury, a super busy, public relations guru actually stopped and took time out to give trendycharts.com feedback. All we can say is wow. That is so super nice of him to give us even one second of his day. Edward M. Bury is the founder of PRDude, a fascinating blog that focuses on PR. We are so very lucky, not only to have him stop by and add a poll, but give us some great ideas and insights too!!

Each time a celebrity or icon, such as Edward stops by, we promise to give him a thank you ‘shout out’ back! Thanks Edward, we really appreciate your words of wisdom.

Thank you,

tc
